My name is Kathie Lea, and I am the founder of The Kathie Team. I am so proud to say that my team is the number one team with eXp Realty in The Tampa Bay Area closing over 1,750 homes!
My experience and background includes over 20 years of listing and selling Real Estate in the Tampa Bay area including Waterfront, new home construction, certified buyers and selling agent, Short Sale Certified, Relocation, Single Family and Multi-family Investment specialist.
I was born and raised in Southern, California and I have lived in Tennessee and Georgia snd have made the Tampa Bay area my home for over 30 years. Having grown up in a military family and having relocated my family in the past, I have a great appreciation for what it is like to move into a new home in an unfamiliar area. We understand the importance of not only finding the right home, but also the right schools, employment, and neighborhoods.

I was born and raised in Montreal, Canada and lived all across the Country from Nova Scotia, to Ontario and British Columbia before relocating to the United States in 1999. I have worked throughout the U.S., Europe, and China and then finally settled in Florida where I first lived in the Palm Beach area on the East Coast before falling in love with the West Coast and making beautiful Clearwater Beach, Florida my home. I attended Lambton, College and graduated with a Diploma in Electronic Engineering Technology. However, after college, I realized I preferred working with people and became a Consultant working for the world's largest management consulting firm Andersen Consulting (now known as Accenture).
I am married and have 3 grown children, 2 grand kids and 2 very cute westies. I work with my wife and partner Kathie Lea and we run one of the top 1% of Real Estate Teams in the County based on sales volume. We enjoy helping clients realize their real estate dream. We pride ourselves in first understanding each client's needs whether they are selling or buying, and then doing our research and coming up with a plan designed to not only meet their expectations but to exceed them. We have built our business on word of mouth, one client at a time. We have surrounded ourselves with a team of dedicated, full-time, experienced professionals who care as much about our customers as we do.
In my real estate career, I have successfully negotiated tens of millions of dollars in properties during the toughest real estate market in many decades. I have a love for the water, I specialize in waterfront property, live on the water and I am a USCG Licensed Captain. I am also a licensed mortgage loan originator and the founder of SOHFF,LLC. We have helped hundreds of families avoid foreclosure by negotiating short sales and loan modifications. We have worked with investors to help them close on income producing properties and liquidate non-performing assets.

Let me start this off by saying I am a cancer survivor #CML which as taught me to never give up even when things get shaken up. I am originally from the Smokey mountains of Tennessee but have called the Tampa Bay area home for over 30 years! I am a single mother with an amazing son and daughter. Before real estate I worked in the medical field in Pediatrics traumatic brain injuries. I have an AS degree from SPC in Social and Human services with a certification in addiction studies . I graduated with honors from USF in 2022 with my BA degree in Behavioral Community Science majoring in criminology and a minor in Forensic behavior. Most my life my mother moved me around every year or two. I understand the struggles and stress that comes along with moving in the same state or state to state. Growing up I was an athlete in many sports, Swimming ( 4 x district champion and state finals) Track and field ( 4 x district champion), Competitive Dance team, Competitive Cheerleading, and basketball. I currently do archery competitions with my son. I am a huge sports fan especially Football and Hockey. I grew up in the real estate business, my Mother Kathie Lea who is also the Team Lead has been doing Real estate most of my life. I remember being 10 yrs old and helping her study for her real estate license. Now here I am doing real estate with my family and with amazing team members in this beautiful state of FL. I am a native of Fort Worth, Texas, a graduate from Texas Christian University, with a degree in Speech Communications in Human Relations. In my last career, I worked at a bank as a Travel Club & Event Coordinator. We offered premier travel around the world and planned local day trip outings. While leading the trips as a personal escort, I understand the importance of communication and attention to detail, while being the person of trust that clients can rely on for problem solving in any situation.
My husband of 32 years, Randy, and I have always dreamed of living on the beach, so after selling our swimming pool business in Texas, we packed up and made the move to Clearwater Beach. We truly love it here! Our son Max still lives in Ft. Worth and we are the proud grandparents of twins! Even though it was a tough decision to relocate, we are still close enough to enjoy visits frequently.
Having this experience, of my own, enables me in my Real Estate career to understand the challenges, concerns and stress that comes with relocating to another state whether it be seasonal, part-time, or permanent full time resident.

Rachael is a native Floridian, born in St. Pete, FL, lived in Memphis, TN, grew up in Destin, FL and made her way back home, the spectacular Tampa Bay Area! Shannon is pleased to be joining the Kathie Lea team as one of their newest members. She made her start in the world of customer service working in outside sales for 10 years where she developed long term client relationships built on trust and integrity, many whom she's still in contact with to this day. She used that experience to start her own successful small business in 2013, which continues to operate today. In late 2019, she, her husband of 18 years, their two teenage sons and their feisty Jack Russell packed up and made the move from Northern California to Tarpon Springs, Florida. They have fallen in the love with the area, the people, the lifestyle and the endless opportunities the Tampa area has to offer and she is excited to help others do the same thing.
